Indoor golf simulator bays, built to fit the room you have

We size the bay to the room you already have.

Ceiling height, swing clearance and screen distance decide what fits. We measure them first, then specify the kit around them.

Section through a bay, drawn to the ranges this site publishes. Ceiling height, bay depth and the ramp slope are catalogue figures. The standing position and the swing arc are schematic: nothing is published about either, and screen distance is set on survey.
An indoor golf simulator bay at night: a full-height impact screen on the far wall, artificial turf running to a flat hitting area, dark acoustic wall panels and one warm downlight.

Bay layouts

Three layouts, chosen by who plays in the bay and how the ball is teed. The dimensions below are the ones that decide whether a room works.

Dual-handed bay, automatic tee-up

Playable left- and right-handed without moving the mat, with an automatic tee-up mechanism between shots.

Bay width
3.6–4.6 m
Bay depth
On survey
Ceiling height
2.8–3.0 m
Ramp slope
6.1%

Indicative. Confirmed on survey.

Single-handed bay, automatic tee-up

A right-handed bay with automatic tee-up. The narrowest footprint of the three layouts.

Bay width
3.6–4.6 m
Bay depth
2.4–4.6 m
Ceiling height
2.8–3.0 m
Ramp slope
6.1%

Indicative. Confirmed on survey.

Single-handed bay, moving plate

A right-handed bay on a moving plate, which tilts to reproduce uphill, downhill and side-hill lies.

Every dimension on this page is an indicative range taken from installation drawings, rounded outward. They are here to tell you early whether a room is worth measuring properly — not to specify a build. Final dimensions come from a site survey.

What goes in the bay

We specify to the room and the budget rather than to one manufacturer, so the parts below are chosen per project.

Close detail of the bay floor: short artificial turf meeting a denser hitting surface, with a single white golf ball at rest.

Adjustable putting green

A powered surface that tilts to reproduce real green contours.

Bay accessories

Mats, side netting, seating and control kiosks.

Full-swing simulator

Ball and club tracking with course play on a full-size impact screen.

Impact screen

Full-size projection surface rated for live ball strikes.

Launch monitor

Ball speed, launch angle, spin and club path, captured at impact.

Practice and game modes

Target practice, scoring games and multiplayer formats.

Tilting hitting plate

A powered platform that tilts to reproduce uphill, downhill and side-hill lies under the ball.

Power and cooling

The two services that most often need work before a bay can be installed. Give these to your electrician early.

Supply
230 V AC single phase (plus a low-voltage sensor supply)
Typical load
approx. 2.0–2.5 kW with air-conditioning running
Cooling
A dedicated circuit is recommended. Cooling is sized to the room: a 32 m² bay typically needs 16,000–18,000 BTU.
Building services in a converted room: a flush ceiling air-conditioning cassette and a small wall-mounted consumer unit with conduit running to it.

Tell us about the room

The price comes from the room rather than from a price list: ceiling height, floor build-up, power and cooling move the number far more than the choice of hardware. Send us the room and we will come back with what fits it and what it costs.

An empty room before conversion: bare plastered walls, a concrete floor, one high window and a flat ceiling.
The room

Internal dimensions, as near as you know them. Approximate is useful; blank is fine. Every figure is confirmed on survey anyway.
